Over 40 Indian pilgrims are feared dead following a horrific bus accident in Saudi Arabia. The incident occurred as the pilgrims journeyed from Mecca to Medina. Reports suggest the bus caught fire after colliding with a diesel tanker in the Mufrihat region. A significant number of those on board are believed to be from Hyderabad. In response to the tragedy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered his sympathies, assuring that Indian missions in Saudi Arabia are providing all possible aid. “Our Embassy in Riyadh and Consulate in Jeddah are providing all possible assistance. Our officials are also in close contact with Saudi Arabian authorities,” he stated. Local political leaders from Hyderabad have also voiced their concern and are actively involved in seeking information. Asaduddin Owaisi, a Member of Parliament from Hyderabad, confirmed that 42 pilgrims from travel agencies in his constituency were on the bus. He has been in contact with Indian embassy officials and travel operators to gather details and relay them to the authorities. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has ordered swift action to provide support to the affected families and ensure clear communication with Indian diplomatic missions.
