As part of the ongoing investigation, around 1500 people have been taken into custody. Chats belonging to an arrested doctor, Shaheen, used euphemisms for their illicit activities, referring to a ‘blast’ as ‘Dawat’ and ‘explosives’ as ‘Biryani’. A chilling message read, ‘Dawat ke liye biryanai taiyar hai,’ signaling readiness.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is spearheading a comprehensive probe into this Jaish-e-Mohammad operation. The investigation links the blast to an earlier incident involving objectionable posters in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. Several arrests have been made across various locations, including Shopian, Ganderbal, and Saharanpur, involving individuals like Maulvi Irfan Ahmad Waghay, Zamir Ahmad, and Dr. Adeel. The recovery of significant caches of weapons and explosives from medical colleges and residential areas in Faridabad, totaling close to 3,000 kilograms, points to the scale of the unearthed terror module.
