The voter rights yatra in Bihar saw a significant development as Tejashwi Yadav declared his intention to be the Chief Ministerial candidate in front of Rahul Gandhi. Akhilesh Yadav, the former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, also joined the yatra. Tejashwi Yadav asserted that the current government was a ‘copycat’ and posed the question to the public, asking if they preferred a ‘duplicate’ or an ‘original’ CM. Akhilesh Yadav, speaking at the event, highlighted that the entire nation was watching the Bihar elections. He underscored the importance of removing the BJP and its allies. He stated that this show of support would result in the BJP’s defeat. He drew parallels to the past, citing the success in Awadh, and urged the people of Magadh to take up the responsibility. He predicted that the BJP will be ousted from Bihar. He accused the BJP of exploitation and corruption. He accused the Election Commission of being in alliance with the BJP. He praised Tejashwi’s initiatives in providing employment to those who had migrated. Akhilesh also stated that the India alliance would stop the BJP’s strategy. He mentioned that the people of Bihar had previously stopped the BJP. He pledged his unwavering support for Tejashwi. He criticized the current administration’s policies which had ruined the farmers.
