Jyotiraditya Scindia, the Union Minister, met with SpaceX’s Gwynne Shotwell to explore collaborations in satellite communications. Shotwell was pleased with the Starlink license, viewing it as a significant first step. Starlink aims to begin operations in India within the next two months. The company’s pricing model includes a Rs 33,000 cost for the satellite dish and a Rs 3,000 monthly fee for unlimited data. A one-month free trial will be offered to new customers. This service is set to provide vital connectivity to regions where traditional broadband access is limited, potentially fostering competition and driving digital inclusion.
