In response to frequent traffic jams in Greater Noida West’s Shahberi area, the Greater Noida Authority has devised ‘Plan B’. The plan involves closing six illegal cuts and initiating the removal of unauthorized ramps. Surveying for ramp removal is in progress, and demolition work will start soon. The initiative aims to provide relief from traffic congestion in Shahberi. While six cuts are closed, five cuts remain open, allowing drivers to travel on the wrong side and causing potential accidents. These cuts were kept open at the request of locals, but the authority may close them if needed.
The Shahberi Marg, which spans around 1.5 kilometers from the Iteda intersection to the crossing, presents its own challenges. While the road has been widened, some electric poles still obstruct traffic. The process to remove these poles has begun. The removal of the poles and illegal ramps is expected to solve the traffic issues.
According to Prerna Singh, Aceo of the Greater Noida Authority, the widening project of the road linking Ghaziabad and Greater Noida has been finished. She stated that traffic conditions have improved and that the remaining problems will be addressed soon.
