Police in Uttar Pradesh have arrested a school manager in connection with accusations of raping an eighth-grade student. The incident is under investigation by the Sadar Kotwali police. A parent reported to the police that the school manager had assaulted his daughter, a student in class 8. The young girl informed her parents that the manager had been sexually abusing her for several days. Following the complaint, police officials initiated an FIR and began questioning the accused. The investigation into the matter is ongoing.
In a separate development, the Odisha government has suspended internet and social media services in Cuttack for a period of 24 hours, starting from Sunday. The ban, which commenced at 7 pm on Sunday, will continue until 7 pm on Monday. The use of social media platforms has also been prohibited in the area. The restrictions apply to the Cuttack Municipal Corporation, Cuttack Development Authority (CDA), and the 42 Mauza Region. The move comes after new reports of clashes between two groups, following previous incidents of stone-pelting and conflict during Durga Puja celebrations.
