Today marks the centenary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The RSS is holding its centenary year celebrations, which began at 7:40 AM at the Resham Bagh ground in Nagpur. Over 21,000 volunteers are participating in the program, with former President Ram Nath Kovind as the chief guest.
Before the main events, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat conducted the Shastra Pujan. The program includes yoga, physical demonstrations, mock combat, musical performances, and a parade. The Vijayadashami festival is also being celebrated across more than 83,000 RSS branches nationwide. The RSS was established by Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar on Vijayadashami in 1925.
Mohan Bhagwat, the sixth Sarsanghchalak, has led the RSS since 2009. Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, the founding Sarsanghchalak, established the organization. Prime Minister Narendra Modi commemorated the centenary by releasing a postage stamp and a 100-rupee coin.
Foreign guests from Ghana, South Africa, Indonesia, Thailand, the UK, and the USA are attending the Vijayadashami celebrations.
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat paid homage to Dr. Hedgewar at the Vijayadashami celebrations in Nagpur, with former President Ram Nath Kovind also in attendance. Both leaders participated in the Shastra Pujan on Vijayadashami 2025.
