Swami Ramabhadracharya, during a Ramkatha in Meerut, has made controversial statements regarding women and education. He stated that only Hinduism honors women as divine figures, unlike other religions where they are addressed as ‘baby’ or ‘wife’. He also criticized Islam, alleging that women face hardships there, pointing to instances of multiple childbirths and divorce. In contrast, he highlighted the high regard for mothers in Hinduism. Ramabhadracharya also expressed his views on education, advising parents to avoid convent schools and instead, enroll their children in schools that emphasize cultural values. He stressed the importance of raising children with good values, regardless of their gender. He further commented on the 33% reservation for women in Parliament, asserting that women deserve more rights than men, attributing the high societal status of women to Hindu traditions. These comments have led to considerable discussion and debate.
