The Rajasthan cabinet, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, held a meeting on August 23rd at the CMO, leading to significant decisions aimed at the state’s development. The meeting focused on the ‘Developed Rajasthan-2047’ vision document, along with the approval of two policies and three bills. The government aims to reduce tolls and achieve an economy of $4.3 trillion by 2047. Following the meeting, Industry Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Jogaram Patel briefed the press on the key outcomes. Minister Patel discussed plans to strengthen medical and health services, including establishing the Rajasthan Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Jaipur, which will be modeled after AIIMS. The relevant bill will be introduced in the upcoming session. The meeting also addressed land allocation in urban areas, establishing a clear policy for allocation to various sectors. The new Land Allocation Policy 2025 will ensure fairness. The cabinet also approved the construction of a 7,000-seat convention center on Tonk Road in Jaipur, with a budget of 3500 crore. The project, expected to be completed in 36 months, will be managed by the same company that built Bharat Mandapam. Moreover, the cabinet approved the allocation of 1280 hectares of land for a solar power plant with a 2500 MW capacity. The government mandated that companies planting solar plants must plant five trees for every tree cut. The state is aiming to become a green energy hub. The Rajasthan Fisheries (Amendment) Bill 2025 was also passed, introducing increased fines for fisheries-related violations, as well as the prohibition of unnecessary killing of fish. Additionally, the cabinet approved amendments to the Rajasthan State Highway Toll Rules to align with central government regulations. The Factories (Rajasthan Amendment) Bill 2025 was also approved, which included provisions for increasing work hours up to 12 and permitting women to work night shifts with safety measures.
