Rahul Gandhi has intensified his criticism of the Bharatiya Janata Party, alleging that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s premiership is a direct result of ‘election rigging.’ Gandhi declared his intention to unveil more evidence of what he calls ‘chunav chori,’ or election theft, specifically targeting the Gen Z and youth demographic. He presented a detailed case regarding the Haryana state elections, asserting that the polls were fundamentally compromised and constituted a ‘wholesale chori.’ Gandhi detailed his complaints to the Election Commission, which reportedly included instances of fraudulent voting and the use of fabricated identities, such as a photo of a Brazilian national being used for voting. He expressed disappointment with the Election Commission’s lack of action and the BJP’s defensive stance on the matter. Furthermore, Gandhi accused the Election Commission, Prime Minister Modi, and Home Minister Amit Shah of collectively attacking India’s Constitution by manipulating election outcomes. He argued that the principle of ‘one man, one vote’ was violated in Haryana, leading to ‘one man, multiple votes,’ and predicted that similar strategies would be implemented in Bihar, following alleged past instances in other states. This significant accusation comes amidst the ongoing Bihar assembly elections, where the first phase saw a record voter turnout.
