The Punjab government, led by the Aam Aadmi Party, has opened its coffers to aid those affected by the devastating floods. CM Bhagwant Mann made several significant announcements on Monday to provide immediate relief to flood victims. AAP’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab’s in-charge Manish Sisodia, along with other senior leaders, described CM Bhagwant Mann’s declarations as historic. Kejriwal stated that no state government in the country has ever made such extensive announcements for its citizens. He noted that even while hospitalized, CM Bhagwant Mann is deeply concerned for the people of Punjab and has taken care of everyone in his announcements. Kejriwal lauded the resilience, courage, and selfless service demonstrated by the people of Punjab during the crisis. He mentioned the AAP’s leaders and workers have been serving the public day and night for several days. On Monday, CM Bhagwant Mann made several major announcements to provide relief to the people from the floods, describing these announcements as historic. He urged party workers to ensure that every announcement made by Mann reaches the public, considering it a meritorious act. Manish Sisodia, a senior AAP leader and Punjab’s in-charge, also commended CM Bhagwant Mann’s historic announcements for the flood victims. He noted that Punjab’s beloved CM, Bhagwant Mann, has once again come forward as a true well-wisher of the Punjabis. He mentioned that even while in the hospital, his only concern was how to reduce the suffering of the people in Punjab affected by the floods. Sisodia highlighted that the historic decisions taken by Bhagwant Mann on Monday for flood victims are unprecedented in the country’s history, aiming to provide relief to every home, farmer, and laborer. He sees this as the unwavering love and service of a son of Punjab for his family. The CM has announced ₹20,000 per acre compensation for farmers, which will be provided through direct checks. Families of those who died in the floods will receive ₹4 lakh, and compensation will be provided for damages to homes after a survey. The installment of loans taken by flood-affected farmers from cooperative societies and agricultural banks has been postponed for six months, and financial assistance will be provided for livestock losses. CM Bhagwant Mann, despite his illness, remains concerned about helping the flood-affected people of Punjab.
