Tension persisted in Nepal on Tuesday, marking the second day of widespread protests. Public anger stemmed from issues of corruption and the government’s ban on social media platforms. The situation escalated dramatically, with protesters setting fire to the Parliament House, Rashtrapati Bhavan, and the Supreme Court. The personal residence of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, along with the homes and offices of numerous ministers and political leaders, were also vandalized and set ablaze. Facing mounting public pressure, the government conceded to demands, resulting in the resignation of Prime Minister Oli. The unrest has also impacted areas along the India-Nepal border, with reports of attacks on adjacent Indian villages.
