The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) Vice Chairman, Kuljeet Singh Chahal, has given credit to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for the consistent recognition of the NDMC in national cleanliness assessments. Chahal made these remarks during a civic event, where he praised the Prime Minister’s role in the NDMC’s ongoing success. He pointed out that the council has consistently won cleanliness awards annually, underscoring its commitment to the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and various urban development projects.
The NDMC has consistently been a model for other civic bodies, frequently excelling in the Swachh Survekshan rankings. Chahal acknowledged that the Prime Minister’s vision and governance were instrumental in establishing a culture of accountability, promoting hygiene, and ensuring sustainability in urban administration.
Chahal also highlighted the Prime Minister’s emphasis on transparent, technology-driven governance and citizen participation as crucial elements in the NDMC’s achievements. He mentioned that the NDMC has implemented innovations in waste segregation, efficient garbage collection, and sanitation management, setting high standards in urban hygiene. The NDMC’s strategic initiatives encompass smart infrastructure, the development of green spaces, and the implementation of waste-to-energy conversion systems. Chahal noted that these initiatives have significantly improved the quality of life for residents and visitors in Lutyens’ Delhi.
