Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to undertake a two-day visit to Bihar, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh, commencing on June 20th. The visit encompasses a wide array of activities, including the inauguration of crucial infrastructure projects, the laying of foundation stones for future developments, and participation in the International Yoga Day celebrations.
In Bihar, the Prime Minister will focus on infrastructure upgrades and socio-economic growth by inaugurating projects in Siwan. This includes the Vaishali-Deoria railway line, a new Vande Bharat Express, and a locomotive for export. The Namami Gange project will see the inauguration of six Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs), and initiatives for water supply, sanitation, and additional STPs will also be launched. A 500 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) will be established to bolster the power infrastructure.
In Odisha, the Prime Minister will attend a state-level function in Bhubaneswar, marking the first anniversary of the State Government. He will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for multiple development projects valued at over Rs 18,600 crore. These projects will cover essential areas such as drinking water, infrastructure, and new railway lines, including extending rail connectivity to the Boudh district. Additionally, 100 electric buses will be launched under the CRUT system, and the Odisha Vision Document will be released, alongside the ‘Baraputra Aitihya Gram Yojana’ initiative. Recognising their contributions, women achievers will be honoured.
On June 21st, the Prime Minister will lead the International Yoga Day celebrations in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. He will participate in a mass yoga demonstration on the beachfront, highlighting the ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’ theme.
