A picnic outing at Ajaygarh fort in Madhya Pradesh turned into a medical emergency when more than a dozen people fell ill after eating puris. The victims, from Sahai village in Panna district, began experiencing symptoms of food poisoning, leading to their hospitalization. The Food Department’s initial assessment suggests the ghee used in the puris was adulterated. Patients, including children and women, reported vomiting and diarrhea. The authorities have initiated an investigation, collected samples of the ghee for thorough analysis, and promised strict action against anyone found selling adulterated food. Furthermore, the shop that supplied the ghee is also under scrutiny, with sampling operations underway.
