Responding to Rahul Gandhi’s remarks on elections, Union Minister Chirag Paswan asserted that the Congress MP’s statements suggest he has already conceded defeat in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. Paswan argued that Gandhi should look inward at the Congress party for the reasons behind any electoral shortcomings instead of criticizing other institutions. He pointed to Gandhi’s allegations against the Election Commission and claims of EVM manipulation as evidence of anticipated defeat. Paswan also expressed the view that the Congress party would likely face losses in Assam and Bengal after the Bihar polls. Tejashwi Yadav, the RJD leader, voiced support for Gandhi’s accusations against the Election Commission, claiming that the BJP has undermined constitutional institutions. Yadav alleged that the BJP is aware of the election schedules before they are officially announced by the Election Commission, implying a lack of impartiality. Rahul Gandhi had previously criticized the Election Commission’s response to allegations of election irregularities in Maharashtra, which the ECI refuted as ‘unsubstantiated.’
