The Monsoon Session of Parliament entered its third day with proceedings starting at 11 am. The Opposition was expected to raise its voice concerning the Pahalgam terror attack and the review of voter rolls in Bihar. The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were both disrupted on Tuesday because of ongoing protests by the Opposition members.
In the Lok Sabha, Opposition members gathered in the Well of the House at 11 am, holding placards and shouting slogans, calling for the cancellation of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls in Bihar. Despite Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s appeal to allow Question Hour to commence, the protests persisted, leading Speaker Om Birla to adjourn the House until noon. The House was adjourned several times due to similar disruptions.
The Rajya Sabha also faced comparable disruptions, with repeated uproar concerning the same issues. The Upper House was adjourned for the day shortly after reconvening post-lunch at 2 pm, with no business conducted.
