The Prime Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration 2025 has initiated its web portal, managed by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances. The registration and nomination process began on October 1, 2025, and will continue until November 15, 2025. The launch was attended by District Collectors from all states and union territories.
The scheme seeks to foster healthy competition, introduce innovative ideas, and enhance work methodologies. It will focus on effectively delivering administrative strategies to the public, with a particular emphasis on ground-level implementation to ensure impactful changes beyond mere statistics. The initiative aims to recognize civil servants who have successfully connected beneficiaries with government schemes and ensured their thorough implementation.
### Award Criteria
Awards will be assessed based on three criteria: good governance, quality, and quantity. All districts are eligible for the Prime Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration 2025. Districts featuring aspirational blocks, encompassing 500 blocks across 331 Indian districts, can participate in the Aspirational Block Programme category.
Category-I applications will be evaluated on work and achievements from April 1, 2022, to September 30, 2025. Categories II and III will assess performance from April 1, 2023, to September 30, 2025. A total of 16 awards are planned under the Prime Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration 2025. The selection process will involve shortlisting by a screening committee, evaluation by an expert committee, and final selection by an empowered committee. The Prime Minister’s approval will be sought based on the empowered committee’s recommendations.
### Award Components
The award includes a trophy, a certificate, and an incentive of ₹20 lakh, which will be utilized for public welfare initiatives within the winning district or organization.
