A significant breakthrough in the Delhi blast investigation has led authorities to discover an additional safe house associated with terror suspect Dr. Muzammil, located just outside Faridabad. The property, a rented house in Khori Jamalpur village, was secured by Muzammil using a false identity as a Kashmiri fruit trader, according to NIA sources.
During the ongoing probe, NIA officials took Muzammil to the village, where the former sarpanch identified him, confirming he had indeed rented the premises. This discovery underscores a pattern of establishing bases in semi-rural areas near Faridabad and Mewat, chosen for their strategic proximity to vital routes and institutions like Al-Falah University, while offering a degree of discretion.
Witnesses and residents reported multiple visits to the Khori Jamalpur house by Muzammil, often in the company of associate Shine Saeed. These frequent trips suggest the property was utilized as a clandestine meeting point or a logistical hub, integral to the alleged terror conspiracy. This strategy of utilizing multiple, dispersed safe houses appears to be a key tactic employed by the operatives.
The investigation has also pinpointed an earlier interim storage location for explosives. A room situated in fields near Al-Falah University served as a temporary cache for explosives for about 12 days before their final relocation. It is alleged that Muzammil himself transported the explosives to this site, demonstrating his direct control over operational logistics. Local support is also under scrutiny, with the arrest of Imam Ishtiaq, who allegedly aided in storing the explosives. Authorities are actively investigating the full scope of his involvement and whether similar local assistance facilitated other aspects of the terror plot.
