The Yellow Line of the Bengaluru Metro, connecting RV Road (Ragigudda) to Bommasandra, was officially opened on Sunday by the Prime Minister. The inauguration was attended by Karnataka’s Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister. The Prime Minister commenced the journey by purchasing a ticket via a QR code at Raghugudda metro station, then flagged off the Yellow Line of the Namma Metro. The Yellow Line, part of the Metro Phase-2 project, features a route of over 19 km with 16 stations, totaling approximately Rs 7,160 crore in investment. This new line will expand the operational metro network in Bengaluru to more than 96 km. Moreover, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for Phase-3 of the Bangalore Metro project, estimated to cost over Rs 15,610 crore. This project is planned to cover a distance of over 44 km, including 31 elevated stations, intended to meet the increasing transport requirements of the city, encompassing various areas.
