The investigation into the honeymoon murder in Meghalaya has uncovered a complex plot involving several failed attempts to kill Raja Raghuvanshi. Police have confirmed that the accused, including Sonam Raghuvanshi, Raja’s wife, had tried to murder him on three previous occasions. The ultimate goal was achieved when Raja was killed by Sonam and her alleged accomplice, Raj Kushwaha, who had hired three professional killers.
The police revealed that the initial attempt to kill Raja was made in Guwahati. However, it failed. Two more attempts were made in Sohra, but they too did not succeed. The final attempt took place at the Visadong waterfall, where Raja was ultimately killed.
Authorities explained that the suspects explored various locations to carry out the murder. These included Guwahati and Nongriat. However, these plans were unsuccessful due to various logistical problems. The plan to kill Raja was hatched even before the honeymoon. The hired killers had already arrived in Guwahati before the couple reached.
