Intense monsoon activity has prompted the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue weather alerts for numerous states. Heavy rain has lashed East Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, and Coastal Karnataka. Severe flooding has been reported in West Bengal’s Paschim Medinipur. The IMD anticipates a sustained period of wet weather across Northeast, Central, West, and Northwest India. Residents are advised to be cautious due to the potential for disruptions and traffic delays. The IMD has pinpointed regions likely to experience isolated heavy rainfall, including Rajasthan (July 13–16), Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh (July 14–16), Himachal Pradesh (July 13–18), Uttarakhand (July 13–18), Punjab (July 16), Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi (July 14), and West Uttar Pradesh (July 13, 16 & 17). Other areas, such as East Uttar Pradesh (July 14–17), Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Konkan, Goa, Gujarat, Kerala, Coastal Karnataka, South Interior Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu, are also expected to receive torrential rainfall. The weather in Delhi is forecast to remain cloudy, with light showers, thunderstorms, and lightning expected until July 18.
