Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded his visit to Canada and arrived in Croatia on Wednesday, the final destination of his three-nation tour. The visit signifies a crucial development in bilateral ties between India and Croatia.
Upon his arrival in Zagreb, Prime Minister Modi was greeted with a ceremonial welcome. This visit represents the first time an Indian Prime Minister has visited Croatia, paving the way for enhanced cooperation in various areas of mutual interest.
In Croatia, PM Modi is scheduled to engage in bilateral talks with Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic and meet with President Zoran Milanovic.
This visit highlights India’s determination to bolster its collaboration with partners within the European Union.
Reflecting on his time in Canada, PM Modi characterized the G7 Summit as successful, marked by valuable discussions on international issues. He reaffirmed India’s commitment to global peace, prosperity, and sustainable development.
At the G7 Summit, PM Modi took part in the Outreach Session, delivering an address on ‘Energy Security: diversification, technology, and infrastructure.’ He focused on ensuring energy access and affordability in the face of global change.
In his address, the Prime Minister recognized energy security as a paramount concern for the future. He outlined India’s dedication to inclusive growth, underscoring that availability, accessibility, affordability, and acceptability are the core tenets of India’s energy security strategy.
He also emphasized that India, as the fastest-growing major economy, has successfully achieved its Paris commitments ahead of schedule. Highlighting India’s commitment to a sustainable future, he championed the International Solar Alliance, Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure, Global Biofuels Alliance, Mission LiFE, and One Sun- One World- One Grid, calling for greater international support for these initiatives.
