During his visit to Assam’s Darrang district, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stones for the Darrang Medical College and Hospital, the GNM School, and the B.Sc. Nursing College. The Guwahati Ring Road Project and the Kuruwa-Narengi Bridge over the Brahmaputra River were also initiated. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma was present and presented a memento in recognition of Krishak Swahid Diwas.
In his address, PM Modi reflected on his recent visit to the region, connecting it to ‘Operation Sindoor’ and the blessings of Maa Kamakhya. He also expressed the significance of the day, which coincided with Janmashtami. He referenced his prior statements from the Red Fort about future security policies.
PM Modi stated, “Yahi mera remote control hai. Mera aur koi remote control nahi hai, 140 crore deshwasi mera remote control hai…”
The Prime Minister highlighted Assam’s rapid economic growth, mentioning a 13% growth rate. He positioned Assam as a leading state in India’s economic expansion, pointing out its remarkable progress and development.
He also made critical remarks against the Congress party, using figurative language to address political dynamics. He emphasized the importance of respecting Assam’s cultural heritage and accelerating its development, as key priorities of the government.
