In response to the recent floods, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has tasked government ministers with overseeing relief operations in the affected areas. Modi has made it clear that providing immediate aid to those impacted by the floods is a top priority. BJP’s National General Secretary Tarun Chugh will coordinate with the ministers to ensure efficient execution of rescue and relief work. State ministers are instructed to stay in a flood-affected district for two days to assess the relief work. The ministers are required to visit four states: Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, and Jammu-Kashmir. A relief package of 1200 crore rupees has been announced for Uttarakhand. Financial aid of two lakh rupees for the families of the deceased and 50,000 rupees for the injured has also been announced. A high-level review meeting was held to assess the damage caused by the recent natural calamities. The Prime Minister also met with the affected families. He expressed his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the disaster. The Prime Minister highlighted the need for a comprehensive approach to aid the region’s recovery, including rebuilding houses, repairing national highways, reconstructing schools, and providing relief through the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund and distributing mini kits for animals.
