In a heart-wrenching incident, a man from Maharashtra was compelled to transport his deceased newborn daughter’s body for 90 kilometers using a bus, due to the unavailability of an ambulance. The event took place at Nashik Civil Hospital.
The father, Sakharam Kavar, expressed deep sorrow, attributing his child’s death to the negligence of the health system. His wife’s labor began on June 11 at Khodala PHC. Despite attempts to secure an ambulance, contacting local health workers, and calling emergency services, he received no assistance. He then arranged private transportation to the Khodala Public Health Centre.
At the PHC, the woman reportedly waited for an hour before being moved to Mokhada Civil Hospital. Following that, she was referred to Nashik Civil Hospital when the fetal heartbeat couldn’t be detected. An ambulance from Aase village eventually transported her, but she delivered a stillborn baby on June 12.
Simultaneously, in Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior district, a 25-year-old man reportedly set himself on fire due to troubles with his partner. The man, identified as Ajay Kushwaha, suffered severe burn injuries and later succumbed. The incident occurred in front of the woman’s residence on the night of June 13 and was reportedly linked to financial disagreements.
