Haryana’s Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini, has declared the implementation of the ‘Deen Dayal Upadhyay Lado Lakshmi Yojana’, a significant step aimed at providing financial support to women in the state. The scheme will offer a monthly financial assistance of ₹2,100 to eligible women. The program is slated to commence on September 25th. The ‘Lado Lakshmi Yojana’ was a key election promise of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Haryana. The announcement came after a cabinet meeting chaired by CM Saini. The cabinet’s decision to implement the ‘Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana’, was made public by the Chief Minister. The launch date of September 25th aligns with the birth anniversary of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay. The scheme is designed to benefit both married and unmarried women. The Chief Minister stated that the scheme will provide financial aid of ₹2,100 each month to all qualifying female beneficiaries. Starting from September 25th, women aged 23 and above will be eligible to benefit from the scheme, regardless of their marital status. In the initial phase, the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana will focus on families with an annual income below ₹1 lakh. There are plans to expand the scheme gradually to include those with higher income levels. There is no limit on the number of female beneficiaries per family; all eligible women in a family can benefit. To qualify for the Lado Yojana, unmarried women, or the husbands of married women, must have been residents of Haryana for 15 years. Women already receiving higher pensions from 9 existing government schemes will not be eligible. Women suffering from Stage 3 and 4 cancer, those with 54 listed rare diseases, as well as patients with hemophilia, thalassemia, and sickle cell anemia already receiving pensions, will also get additional benefits. At 45, unmarried women will automatically become eligible for the Widow and Destitute Women Financial Assistance Scheme. At 60, beneficiaries will automatically be eligible for the Old Age Samman Bhatta Pension Scheme. In the initial phase, approximately 19-20 lakh women are expected to benefit from this scheme. The scheme will be officially notified within the next week, with a dedicated mobile app for applications to follow. Eligible women can apply via the app. SMS notifications will be sent to prospective beneficiaries. Lists of all eligible women will be displayed in local panchayats and wards.
