In the ongoing investigation into the gangrape of a law student in Kolkata, the police took the four arrested individuals to South Calcutta Law College for a crime scene reconstruction on Friday. The reconstruction aimed to understand the sequence of events leading up to the alleged rape on June 25th. The accused, including Monojit Mishra, Pramit Mukherjee, Zaib Ahmed, and Pinaki Banerjee, were taken to the college at dawn. A police officer confirmed the completion of the reconstruction, which took around five hours. The police will now cross-reference the reconstruction details with the victim’s allegations and other evidence. The survivor described an atmosphere of fear and intimidation, stating that Mishra, who had previous ties to the ruling party, was a source of concern. Mishra has faced multiple charges related to harassment and misbehavior. The college has since terminated Mishra’s employment. Mishra was previously a student at the institute and was expelled in 2013. The court has extended the custody of Mishra and two students until July 8, with the security guard’s custody extended until Friday.
