BJP leader CR Kesavan launched a scathing attack on Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of acting as a ‘political puppet’ for Pakistan. This condemnation came in response to Gandhi’s assertion that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had conceded to US pressure from Donald Trump, leading to a ceasefire agreement with Pakistan. Kesavan stated that Gandhi was exploiting Pakistan’s anti-India stance to revitalize his flagging political career, with his comments purportedly being broadcast on Pakistani television, thereby amplifying negative sentiments against India and its armed forces. Kesavan expressed his disappointment with Gandhi’s intelligence and integrity, predicting a failure for the Congress leader. Earlier, Gandhi had criticized the BJP-led government regarding the alleged US mediation in Operation Sindoor. During a convention of Congress workers in Bhopal, Gandhi targeted the BJP-RSS, suggesting they were easily intimidated. He cited the 1971 war, contrasting Indira Gandhi’s stance with Modi’s alleged response to Trump. The statement by Kesavan comes in the wake of former US President Donald Trump’s claims of stopping hostilities between India and Pakistan after India’s retaliatory action against the terror infrastructure in Pakistan and PoJK following the Pahalgam terror attack.
