Rajya Sabha MP John Brittas, representing the CPI(M), has strongly criticized Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition, over his statements concerning the Kerala government. Brittas asserted that the Congress in Kerala has aligned with the BJP. He argued that instead of fostering unity among secular parties, Gandhi is causing division. Brittas’s comments followed Gandhi’s assertion that he ideologically opposes both CPI(M) and RSS. Brittas stated that Gandhi should understand the situation better and that the Kerala Congress is essentially part of the BJP alliance. The initial dispute arose after Gandhi stated that both RSS and CPI(M) lack empathy for the public and are detached from ground realities. Gandhi emphasized his ideological opposition to both groups, citing their perceived lack of feeling for the people. John Brittas was present in the national capital for an all-party meeting ahead of the upcoming Parliament session. The INDIA bloc aims to collectively raise concerns in Parliament and seeks Prime Minister Modi’s address on several issues during the Monsoon Session, which commences on Monday, demanding accountability from the government. Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi anticipates Prime Minister Modi addressing important matters in Parliament, especially concerning defense, foreign policy, and the electoral structure. The monsoon session will conclude on August 21.
