In a significant crackdown on the illegal transport of explosives, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) has intercepted and seized firecrackers amounting to Rs 23,182 at Muri Railway Station, near Ranchi. This operation, part of the Ranchi division’s ongoing commitment to railway security under Commandant Pawan Kumar, highlights the RPF’s enhanced vigilance. A comprehensive check of the station and its surroundings led the RPF team to an unattended large white bag placed on Platform 1 of the 18626 Express. A detailed examination revealed a variety of fireworks, with a market value assessed at approximately Rs 23,182. After failing to locate the owner through public announcements, the RPF’s flying squad, comprising ASI Anil Kumar, ASI R.K. Singh, Dinesh Prasad, and Hemant, took charge. The contraband was officially confiscated and stored securely at the RPF post in Muri, pending further inquiries into its origin and intended destination.
