In an operation against Naxalites, security forces neutralized three extremists in the forests of Gumla district, Jharkhand. The encounter occurred in the early hours of Wednesday in the Bishunpur police station area. Among the killed were two sub-zonal commanders, identified as Lalu Lohar and Chhotu Uraon, each carrying a bounty of Rs 5 lakh declared by the Jharkhand government. The third extremist, Sujit Uraon, was also killed, and he was actively involved in the organization as a cadre.
Following the encounter, three weapons were recovered from the scene, including an AK-47 rifle. The Superintendent of Police of Gumla, Harish Bin Jama, confirmed the encounter, stating that the operation was conducted under his leadership. A thorough search operation is currently underway to capture other potential extremists or to completely secure the area.
