A severe road accident claimed the lives of three individuals in Godda district, Jharkhand, on the inaugural day of the Sharadiya Navratri festival. Among the deceased were a husband and wife. The accident resulted in immediate commotion at the site, prompting a police response to secure the scene and transport the bodies for post-mortem procedures. Bereavement has deeply affected the families of the victims. The deceased were en route back from collecting Gangajal, holy water from the Ganges, for the Kalash Sthapana ritual when the tragedy struck.
The accident took place within the Mahagama police station jurisdiction. The vehicle was traversing the Mahagama-Ekchari main road when it veered off course, plunging into a ravine. Tragically, the three occupants, including the married couple, succumbed to their injuries. The incident drew a substantial gathering of onlookers. The victims were identified as Jogendra Kumar Yadav and his wife, Bindeshwari Devi, residents of Mahagama Urja Nagar, alongside Kaushalya Devi.
