Lakhs of people gathered for the memorial feast of Dishom Guru Shibu Soren, the former Chief Minister of Jharkhand. Among those present were Yoga guru Baba Ramdev and Home Minister Amit Shah, who paid their respects at the event in Nemra. They met with Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s family and offered floral tributes to a portrait of Soren.
Shibu Soren passed away on August 4th at the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi. His final rites were conducted by his son, Hemant Soren, in Nemra, his ancestral village. All associated ceremonies are being held in Nemra.
A social media post from the Jharkhand Chief Minister’s office highlighted the presence of Baba Ramdev and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh at the feast. Baba Ramdev offered floral tributes to Dishom Guru Shibu Soren. He also met with Chief Minister Hemant Soren and family members to express his condolences. Additionally, Baba Ramdev sought the blessings of Hemant Soren’s mother, Rupi Soren.
Extensive security measures were in place to manage the large number of attendees at the memorial feast. Over 2500 police officers were deployed for security. Over 300 e-rickshaws were also arranged to provide transportation for guests.
The feast was organized for over two lakh people. Twelve different culinary options were available. Separate food arrangements were made for vegetarian and non-vegetarian guests. The menu included various dishes, from basic staples to more elaborate items.
