A major operation by security forces in West Singhbhum district has disrupted a Naxalite plan to carry out attacks. The joint operation, involving the police, Cobra 209 Battalion, CRPF, and Jharkhand Jaguar, resulted in the dismantling of two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and five Naxalite bunkers in the Chota Nagpur area. A large quantity of explosive materials, including detonators and communication devices, were also seized.
The IEDs, discovered during the operation, were safely defused by the bomb disposal squad. The operation was launched based on intelligence that revealed top Maoist leaders were planning attacks in the Saranda and Kolhan regions. The search began on July 8th and led to the discovery of the hidden IEDs and bunkers on July 11th.
Authorities are committed to ensuring the safety of the local population and will continue operations until the area is cleared of Naxalite presence. The police have assured the public that their security is paramount and that they are working to prevent any acts of violence or disruption in the region. Vigilance has been increased, and anti-Naxal operations are being intensified to maintain peace and order.
