An auspicious orientation and farewell event took place at Scholar B.Ed. College in Banhatti, Giridih. The college welcomed the new cohort of B.Ed. trainees for the 2025-27 academic year while bidding adieu to the graduating D.El.Ed. students from the 2023-25 batch. The occasion was graced by the presence of College Director Pramod Kumar and Sardav Joravar Singh Saluja as chief guests. Principal Dr. Shalini Khovala and D.El.Ed. Coordinator Dr. Hardeep Kaur extended a floral welcome to all dignitaries and participants. The event officially commenced with the symbolic lighting of a lamp.
Principal Dr. Shalini Khovala addressed the incoming B.Ed. trainees, offering them insights into the college’s ethos and the curriculum. She motivated the students by recalling Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s words: ‘Dreams are not what you see when you sleep; they are the things that keep you awake.’ Dr. Khovala eloquently described the institution as a fertile ground for cultivating values and leadership, poised to inspire future generations.
Chief guest Pramod Kumar spoke about the transformative power of educators, emphasizing their role in shaping not just individuals but entire societal trajectories. He inspired the aspiring teachers by suggesting they could emulate figures like Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan or become leading experts in their fields. Kumar urged the students to envision themselves as influential figures beyond the classroom, including successful entrepreneurs, institution builders, and visionary educational leaders.
Dr. Hardeep Kaur, in her capacity as D.El.Ed. in-charge, offered words of encouragement and best wishes for the graduates’ future endeavors. The trainees further enriched the program with a vibrant cultural showcase, captivating the attendees with their performances.
As part of the welcome for the new B.Ed. trainees, essential academic materials such as diaries, pens, and syllabi were distributed. To honor outstanding achievement, the top ten D.El.Ed. students from the 2023-25 batch were presented with mementos and certificates. Monali Gupta was celebrated as the District Topper and Student of the Session. Awards were also given for discipline, obedience, and active participation to other deserving students.
The event was meticulously organized by Dr. Santosh Kumar Choudhary, and the stage was expertly compered by trainees Tasneen Saba and Shubham Kumar. The function was well-attended by faculty members, administrative staff, and the student body.
