The campus of Sarla Birla University (SBU) in Ranchi recently echoed with the sounds of celebration during its much-anticipated Fresher’s Day. Spanning three days, the event was a spectacular showcase of talent and enthusiasm, designed to welcome the university’s newest cohort. Senior students orchestrated a series of lively activities, ensuring a memorable introduction for the freshers. The students adorned themselves in festive outfits and presented a kaleidoscope of entertaining programs. The air was filled with the beats of both classic and contemporary music, accompanied by captivating dance performances and a thrilling fashion show, all contributing to an atmosphere of immense fun and bonding.
As part of the celebration, outstanding students were recognized, with Mr. and Ms. Fresher titles awarded to deserving individuals from different academic branches.
Professor Gopal Pathak, SBU’s Director General, addressed the students, stressing the paramount importance of discipline in achieving life’s aspirations. He advised them to cultivate a disciplined approach to their academic journeys.
Vice-Chancellor Professor C. Jagannathan lauded the significance of such events in shaping a student’s overall development. He pointed out that these gatherings are instrumental in building self-assurance, fostering a spirit of collaboration, and nurturing leadership qualities.
Faculty members from all departments were present to support the festivities. The university’s Pro-Chancellor, Bijay Kumar Dalan, and Member of Parliament, Dr. Pradeep Kumar Verma, conveyed their congratulations on the successful event and offered encouraging words to the new students.
