The Ranchi police have uncovered startling details in the murder case of a woman who maintained a 15-year illicit relationship with a man in the Jharkhand capital. Danish Qureshi, the alleged lover, and Mohammad Saud Qazi, his accomplice, have been apprehended. Danish is a Ranchi resident, while Qazi is from West Bengal. A black Scorpio, used in the crime, has also been seized.
The woman was murdered on August 24 in the Tamar police area. The perpetrators staged the scene to appear as a traffic accident, intentionally running over the body.
A complaint was filed on August 25 by Kareena Devi, stating that her mother had lived with Naseem Qureshi for 15 years after her father’s death. They had a daughter and three sons. The mother went to Naseem’s house on August 24 and never returned, and her phone was off.
Given the case’s gravity, a special team was formed under the Ranchi SSP’s direction, led by the Bundu DSP, including the Tamar police in-charge. Using technical analysis, they apprehended Danish Qureshi, Naseem’s son, and Saud Qazi. They confessed after intense questioning.
The investigation revealed that the deceased had a long-standing affair with Naseem. She frequently sought money from him, which angered the family. Danish, along with his mother and father, plotted her demise. Naseem, his wife, and son left for Hajj on August 18.
On August 24, the woman went to request money. Danish and Saud took her in a black Scorpio, drove her to Tatisilve, and forced her to drink alcohol. They then killed her in a secluded location and left her body on the road, running over it with the car to feign an accident.
