A disturbing case of marital betrayal and murder has been reported in Ranchi, Jharkhand. In the Pithoria police station area, a woman and her boyfriend are accused of conspiring to kill her husband. The victim, Lumba Oraon, was discovered in a secluded area outside his village of Rahra Monajara, prompting immediate police action.
The police, upon investigation, formed a team under the guidance of SSP Chandaan Kumar Sinha and Rural SP Praveen Pushkar. The investigation revealed that the wife, Geeta Devi, and her boyfriend, Irfan Ansari, had been involved in an illicit affair for eight years. When Lumba Oraon discovered the affair, he protested, and a physical altercation occurred between him and Irfan. Geeta, influenced by her love for Irfan, turned against her husband and installed CCTV cameras to monitor his activities.
The couple had been planning the murder for approximately a year and a half, gaining knowledge from YouTube videos. On August 20th, Geeta tricked Lumba into accompanying her to view a rental property near Kanke’s BAU. She then gave him a drugged cold drink, followed by alcohol laced with sleeping pills. Afterward, they drove Lumba in an Omni car, and Irfan Ansari strangled him in front of Geeta. The body was then disposed of in the bushes outside the village, to make it seem like an accidental death.
According to SSP cum DIG Chandaan Singh, the pair had been watching YouTube videos to learn various murder techniques, with the aim of concealing their crime. Following the investigation, Geeta Devi and Irfan Ansari were arrested. Authorities also seized an Omni car, a motorcycle, a bottle of alcohol containing sleeping pills, and two empty cold drink bottles used to drug Lumba.
