Police in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, successfully dismantled a sex trafficking operation on Sunday. The operation resulted in the detention of 13 individuals, including 11 young women. Numerous mobile phones and other pieces of evidence were confiscated from the scene, and the police are proceeding with the investigation. Acting on confidential information, the police raided Om Girls Hostel, located in the Lalpur police station area. During the raid, 11 young women and two other individuals were taken into custody for questioning. The women are natives of Bengal. The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Ranchi stated that the Ranchi Police exposed a large sex trafficking ring that was operating in an organized manner. The ring was being run from the Om Girls Hostel in the Lalpur police station area. After investigating the matter, a team headed by City Deputy Superintendent of Police (City DSP) K.V. Raman was formed. The team included several female police officers. The team raided Om Girls Hostel in the Lalpur police station area and apprehended 11 girls. The police are questioning all of them. The SSP stated that the preliminary investigation suggests that these girls were housed in the hostel and then dispatched to various locations to meet clients. The police are conducting in-depth interrogations to identify other people linked to the racket and its network. The SSP also said that the Ranchi Police had taken major action against the sex trade rackets in hotels. Subsequently, those involved in the racket were changing locations. It was learned that the racket was being run through a girls’ hostel. The operator’s role in this entire racket is also being investigated.
