During his visit to Ranchi for the Eastern Zonal Council meeting, Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary criticized Rahul Gandhi’s recent visit to Patna, portraying it as a mere ‘political picnic’ devoid of genuine concern for Bihar’s problems. The Eastern Zonal Council meeting, chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, is set to address critical issues of regional development and resolve disputes among Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and West Bengal. Chaudhary condemned the opposition’s call for a Bihar bandh, calling it misleading and against the interests of the public, especially regarding the Election Commission’s voter list revision. He emphasized the participation of over four crore voters in supporting the verification program. Regarding Jharkhand, Chaudhary stated that leaders should resign if the UPA government hasn’t met public expectations, stressing accountability. The upcoming Eastern Zonal Council meeting will prioritize resolving property disputes between Bihar and Jharkhand, in addition to regional cooperation, administrative improvements, infrastructure advancement, and security matters.
