A brutal attack in Khunti district, Jharkhand, resulted in the death of one man and serious injuries to another. The incident happened late Friday night when two friends on a motorcycle were ambushed. Local police responded to the scene after receiving a report from villagers. The body of the deceased was sent for a post-mortem examination, and a search operation for the attackers has begun.
The victims were returning from the Saiko weekly market when the attack took place near Kocharidih village. The attackers first blinded the riders with chili powder, leading to a fall. Following this, the assailants, riding on two motorcycles, used a sharp weapon to attack Choyta Surukud, who died at the scene.
Singa Munda was seriously injured in the attack. The attackers escaped after the assault. Villagers found the victims later that night, alerting the authorities. Emergency services transported the injured man to a local hospital, where Choyta Surukud was confirmed dead. Police from the Murhu police station have opened an investigation, based on the surviving victim’s account, and are working to arrest the perpetrators.
