A vital capacity enhancement program, centered on ‘Strengthening Evaluation and Assessment Methods,’ concluded at PVSSE DAV Public School, Jhumritilaiya, on November 9, 2025. This two-day initiative, conducted from November 8-9, 2025, was organized by the Central Board of Secondary Education, Patna region, with the explicit goal of improving educational assessment practices. The workshop sought to introduce teachers to modern, fair, and competency-driven evaluation strategies, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of the teaching-learning cycle as envisioned by the National Education Policy 2020. The event was inaugurated by Krishan Kumar Singh, the school’s Principal and Venue Director, who lit a ceremonial lamp. The gathering was graced by expert facilitators: Chandan Kumar Dubey (Sainik School), Mukesh Kumar Prasad (Jharkhand Public School), along with senior educators Mousumi Mallik and Kumar Satish Singh. The atmosphere was enlivened by a student performance of a welcome song. In his address, Principal Krishan Kumar Singh elaborated on the shifts in assessment systems, the principles of unbiased evaluation, and the crucial responsibilities of teachers. The training session welcomed 58 educators, comprising staff from DAV schools and four representatives from Jharkhand Public School. The curriculum covered recent directives, best practices for question formulation, grading scales, practical assignments, and new approaches to continuous classroom assessment. Interactive sessions, including group discussions and quizzes, allowed participants to critically examine evolving assessment methodologies. The resource speakers strongly advocated for evaluations that prioritize students, develop essential skills, and are relevant to real-life applications. The event formally concluded with a peace invocation. Kumar Satish Singh delivered the concluding remarks, thanking the CBSE, the facilitators, the school administration, the attending teachers, and all supporting personnel. Chandni Dubey expertly guided the proceedings. Krishan Kumar Singh, the Principal, highlighted the workshop’s contribution to fostering a more comprehensive, skill-focused, and student-centered educational environment, aligning perfectly with the National Education Policy 2020.
