Muharram was observed with fervor in Palajori block, as Tazia and Akhara processions were organized in several Muslim villages on Sunday. The festival, which commemorates sacrifice and martyrdom, saw preparations for several days in villages like Palajori, Mahuadabar, Pokhariya, Leto, Chakleton, Makarkenda, Asahna, Sagarajor, Kumagadha, Mallandih, and Bedgawana Wadih. The Tazia processions commenced in the afternoon, drawing crowds to the streets. Fairs were also held in locations such as Mahuadabar and Bedagawana Wadih, attracting participation from all age groups. Young Muslim men showcased their skills with traditional weapons and performed feats in the Akhara. Law enforcement, including Police Inspector Nagendra Mandal and officers from Palajori and Khaga police stations, maintained a constant presence to ensure order. Additional police forces were also stationed in predominantly Muslim villages. Further Akhara processions are scheduled for Monday in villages like Badiya. Notably, the 7 Star Club of Bedgawana Wadih presented impressive stunts, captivating onlookers with their displays of skill. Key figures from the club, including Shamsher Ansari, Karimuddin Ansari, Samsul Ansari, Jamal Ansari, and Azad Ansari, played key roles in the Akhara’s organization. Highlights included the youth’s impressive performances in the Akhara.
