In a dramatic turn of events, a man-eating tiger was captured by villagers in a village near Ranchi, Jharkhand. The incident created a state of panic, with locals gathering to catch a glimpse of the tiger. The Forest Department was quickly notified and dispatched a rescue team.
The incident occurred in Mardu village, near Silli assembly. Purandar Mahto discovered the tiger in a room in his home on Wednesday morning. Acting swiftly and calmly, he secured the room from the outside, preventing the tiger from escaping.
Upon hearing the news, the village was gripped by fear. Villagers cautiously came out to see the tiger. The Forest Department intends to tranquilize the tiger before attempting the rescue. The incident has raised serious concerns for the safety of the villagers and the animal.
A specialized team from the Palamu Tiger Reserve has been brought in to aid in the rescue operation. The incident follows a period of heightened concern regarding big cat attacks in the state, particularly by leopards in Garhwa and Latehar districts, where several people were targeted.
