A five-year-old girl was subjected to a brutal assault during a wedding celebration in Ranchi, Jharkhand. The perpetrator, a man, enticed the child away with the promise of mangoes before taking her to a secluded garden and committing the assault.
The incident came to light when the injured girl returned home, prompting her family to seek medical attention. She was initially taken to a local CSC and then transferred to RIMS hospital in Ranchi due to her critical condition.
The local community responded to the assault with outrage, apprehending the accused, Karmadev Urav, and administering a severe beating. Police intervened to take the suspect into custody, and a case has been filed against him under the POSCO Act and other applicable laws, based on the family’s report.
