A vibrant Diwali celebration took place in Koderma, organized by the Prerna Branch of Marwari Yuva Manch, Jhumritilaiya, as part of their ‘Anand Sabke Liye’ initiative. The event, hosted at the Anganwadi center in Harijan Tola, saw children delighted with the distribution of sweets, gifts, and vital supplies. Young attendees experienced the joy of Diwali by lighting sparklers. Former Zila Parishad President Shalini Gupta graced the occasion as the chief guest, stressing the importance of inclusive celebrations. ‘The real joy of a festival comes from sharing it with those in need,’ she stated, adding that spreading happiness is true social service. Gupta believes such events nurture social awareness and a sense of duty among children. She made a special appeal for the community to purchase earthen diyas made by local potters, thereby supporting their employment and cultural heritage. Indra Dev Ram from the Dalit Utpidan Sangharsh Samiti praised the Prerna Branch for its ongoing social contributions. Arvind Choudhary of the Agrawal Samaj recognized the Prerna Branch’s commitment to reaching out to every individual in need. Sarika Laddha, the branch president, informed that their social and religious service activities have been ongoing for three years. The branch also plans to celebrate Diwali with the elderly by distributing supplies at an old age home during Diwali week.
