Koderma’s Bengali community came together for a heartwarming Bijoya Sammelan, an annual event organized by the Koderma Bengali Association. Held at Ravindra Bhawan on Adi Bangla Road, the evening was filled with cultural performances and warm fellowship. Dr. Omyo Biswas, the Association President, delivered a presidential address wishing everyone a happy Vijoya. The Secretary, Uttam Chatterjee, elaborated on the event’s program. The ceremony began with a tribute to Rabindranath Tagore, with office bearers adorning his statue with garlands. A harmonious welcome song, a collaborative effort under the guidance of Sunil Debnath and featuring artists like Tapati Chakraborty, Mousumi Biswas, Priya Banerjee, Dr. Sangeeta Prasad, Soma Pal, Mili Mitra, Arup Mitra, Vipul Gupta, and Sujit Biswas, officially opened the cultural segment. The rhythmic beats of Tabla, provided by Vikas Thapa and Adrijya Biswas, enhanced the musical performances. Over the course of three hours, young talents from the community showcased their artistic prowess through a variety of songs and dances. Performances that captivated the audience included Antar Ghosh’s ‘Durga Elo Durga Elo,’ Ahana Banerjee’s rendition of ‘Aaye Giri Nandini,’ and impressive dance recitals by Antara Mukherjee, Priyanka Das Pal, Prakriti Ghosh, Anushree Vaidya, Archy Das, Rajsi Das, and Adrija Biswas. Abhinandan Roy’s musical contributions were also met with acclaim. The performance of a young dancer, Doel Tandon, to the songs ‘Kine De Reshmi Churi, Naile Jabo Baper Bari’ was a definite crowd-pleaser. Luna Mitra’s exquisite guitar rendition of Rabindra Sangeet was a special treat. Indrani Mukherjee and Tapati Chakraborty also impressed with their vocal performances. The seamless coordination of the event was managed by comperes Sandip Mukherjee and Sulagna Roy. A large number of community members, including Kalyan Banerjee, Kalyan Majumdar, Dasharathi Banerjee, Sudhanya Ghosh, Alok Sarkar, Sameeran Biswas, Juhi Dasgupta, Sapan Dey, Tapas Dey, Pintu Majumdar, and Dilip Majumdar, were in attendance.
