The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) in Jharkhand celebrated its 10th anniversary on Wednesday, with events held across the state’s urban bodies. To commemorate this milestone, the central government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, has initiated PM Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0 in Jharkhand.
Nancy Sahay, Director of the Directorate of Urban Administration, provided details about the new phase. She conveyed her congratulations to the beneficiaries of PM Awas and the urban local bodies involved. She also stated that the government has launched PM Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0 in the state for the urban homeless. Eligible individuals can apply through their local urban bodies or online.
To apply, visit the website pmaymis.gov.in. Select ‘Citizen Assessment,’ followed by ‘Apply Online.’ Enter your Aadhaar number, verify with an OTP, and complete the application form, which will require information like name, address, income, and family details. Upload necessary documents and download the receipt after submission. Finally, submit hard copies of your documents to the municipal corporation.
Required documents for application: Aadhaar card, ration card, bank passbook, income certificate, passport-size photo, land documents (if applicable), and Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
Over the past ten years, numerous urban homeless people in Jharkhand have been provided with permanent housing. Jharkhand is a leading state in the implementation of the ‘Beneficiary-led individual house construction’ component of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban).
