A significant opportunity for aspiring educators in Jharkhand has been announced by the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC). The commission has issued notification number 08/2025 for the recruitment of 3,451 Special Education Assistant Teacher positions through the Jharkhand Intermediate and Graduate Trained Special Education Assistant Teacher Joint Competitive Examination 2025 (JIGTSEATCCE‑2025). These are regular, permanent posts.
The recruitment aims to enhance educational support for children with special needs in the state’s primary schools. A total of 3,451 vacancies are available for intermediate and graduate-trained special education professionals. Candidates interested in these roles can find comprehensive details on the JSSC’s official website.
Online applications will commence on December 14, 2025, and will conclude on January 13, 2026. The JSSC portal will accept registrations, application submissions, document uploads, and fee payments throughout this period. It is essential for candidates to complete the entire process before the deadline.
The application fee for General/OBC candidates is ₹100, while SC/ST candidates from Jharkhand are required to pay ₹50. This fee is payable through online channels only and will not be refunded. Candidates are advised to carefully review all eligibility criteria and required documentation before submitting their application.
Crucially, candidates must possess specialized training in special education. Merely holding a B.Ed or D.El.Ed degree will not suffice. For graduate-level positions, a graduate degree is mandatory, along with a Special B.Ed or a general B.Ed coupled with a special education diploma/certificate. For intermediate-level posts, candidates must have completed intermediate education and possess specific diploma qualifications in special education.
The selection will be based on a Computer Based Test (CBT) featuring multiple-choice questions across three papers. Paper 1 will test General Hindi and a chosen language. Paper 2 will assess knowledge of Jharkhand’s regional and state languages. Paper 3 will cover General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Child Development, Pedagogy, Special and Inclusive Education, and Jharkhand-specific General Studies. The cumulative scores from these papers will determine the final selection.
Remuneration for the selected Special Education Assistant Teachers will be as per the revised state government teacher service rules, approximately Level-6 pay scale. Reservation policies of Jharkhand will be strictly adhered to, covering category, gender, and disability. Only candidates with Jharkhand domicile are eligible for reservation benefits; others will be treated as unreserved.
